Stoney River Lodge is a family owned operation. We offer you Alaska with Alaskan hospitality! Full service, fully guided, full time professional guide since 1972. Master Guide License #11.
The sole purpose of Stoney River Lodge is to provide a quality main base of operations for our clients.
Our site features, main lodge constructed of local logs, kitchen and dining for 15 people, showers, lounge area with glass door wood stove, and a selection of hunting and fishing videos. During your visit you'll stay in one of our new log, client cabins with a great view of the lake, cozy stove and electric lights & private bathroom.
Four private lodge based aircraft are here soley for support of our clients.

Grizzly Hunts:
Our clients have accounted for 4 of the top 10 all time S.C.I. records in the past 4 years, including new #1 world's record.
2 master guides and a registered guide, combined spring grizzly experience 78 years, are at your service!! Our guides have been with us for 7-8 years and one is now going on his 18th year!!
We hunt unit 19 and part of 17. A maximum of 3 clients per 10 day hunt is all we allow for your best chance at the trophy you desire.

Moose Hunts:
Our moose season begins September 1st and end September 25th. The first week, bulls may still be in velvet. Bulls taken the last week of the season may be in the "rut". All trips are limited participation, one hunter with one guide per camp, unless the clients requests otherwise, or the hunt is booked as a 2x1. Our employee to client ratio is usually well over two employees per client with six clients per hunt. Support by pilots, very experienced moose hunting guide, meat packers and lodge staff.

Caribou Hunts:
We have a maximum of 6 guided hunters in the field at one time. In support of our caribou hunts, we use a minimum of three aircraft, privately owned and for exclusive support of our clients. We have been guideing hunting clients and flying in this area of Alaska since 1976.

Dall Sheep Hunts:
Alaska's dall sheep are found ranging in areas of open alpine ridges, meadows, and steep slopes with extremely rugged "escape terrain". They are high country animals and are one of the greatest trophy animals. The hunt, while not easy, will provide rewards and satisfaction to last a lifetime.
